National Sports FestivalApril 7th, 2010
I was hired to cut a 10 minute highlights film of the National Sports Festival 2010, a flagship event of the Ismaili Muslim community in the UK.
The event lasted 3 days and we had three cameramen filming, - one professional and 2 volunteers up until only 2 hours before the final prize-giving ceremony, where the film was to be shown as the climax of the entire event to an audience of 1000.
Shot on a mix of cameras (F900, EX1, XL-H1) I simplified the workflow by capturing onto a Macbook Pro through my Matrox MXO2 LE in DVCPRO HD (Why this codec? Because you can capture it without timecode breaks on a fast enough laptop). The edit inevitably went down to the line, it was always going to with the hours of footage we had, but the video was a resounding success!
